Previous Education:
B.A. Biology and English, Cornell University, 2008
Research Interests:
I am broadly interested in the behavior and social communication of bats. Although social calls have been documented in many bat species, little has been done to establish what functions they might serve. In my research, I hope to begin the task of assigning functions to Eptesicus fuscus social call types based on the behavioral and social contexts in which they are used. I am currently involved in a project on how E. fuscus modifies its echolocation calls in response to perceptual challenges posed by the environment.
