Advisors: Dr. Stephen O'Brien & Dr. Jerry Wilkinson

Previous Education:
B.S. Biochemistry and Genetics, Texas A&M University

Research Interests:
My interest lies in the field of conservation genetics.  More specifically, I am interested in conservation of large mammal species that are being pushed toward extinction because of inbreeding problems or disease.  Running in the same vein, I am also working in the field of genomics.  In order to study populations, identifying the genes behind certain traits and diving into the massive amounts of information held within their genomes is essential.  Right now I am still doing rotations around my lab to hone these interests into a more quantifiable question.

Location of Research:
NIH National Cancer Institute, Lab of Genomic Diversity; Frederick, MD

Funding Sources:
2009 Cancer Research Training Award
